It's not just frustrating. It's infuriating.
I just posted a new blog post!

Right? Why do we want to do all the devops first?? 😅
09.09.2025 09:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I just posted a new blog about how to bring new ideas to life (and how not to):

so one of my neighbors, idk who, has recently gotten a new wifi router that's been completely ruining mine with channel interference. 🤬
Hopefully my manual settings work, but it's seriously ticking me off that this ISP thought "let's grab max signal max width and ruin everything for your neighbors"
Every year my company joins the Great Cycle Challenge and it's a great way to raise money and exercise at the same time. 🤗
I've cycled 4.5 miles (7.2km) today!
I'll donate $10 per mile myself. Will you match my donation? 💗

Thank you! Yes, I definitely have to be careful of how much I use it now.

The blog post I've been trying to write for months; here it is, finally.

In that case, it's the ghostwriters who do the writing.
I can see the benefit of some use of AI for brainstorming or text analysis, but the actual writing of your creative work... well, it's not creative if you're not the one creating.
call me crazy but i think "great writers" do the actual writing themselves

Have professional software developers in their twenties and thirties all heard of Extreme Programming (first published in 1999)? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme...

It sucks, and I've barely or not been able to do any of my hobbies, or work.

Idk how to explain at this point, but seeing generated images take over every of our visual cultures makes me immensely sad. I don't think people have an idea of how much of a disaster it is. People have normalized it so easily, too.
08.02.2025 23:10 — 👍 728 🔁 125 💬 6 📌 1For a guy who's obsessed with going to Mars, Elon Musk sure is canceling a lot of STEM funding. How does he think we'll land on Mars if not through science, engineering, and medical advancements? Duct tape and memecoins?
09.02.2025 01:24 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0I keep thinking about that Battlestar Galactica quote.
All of this has happened before, all of this will happen again.
The idea that story-driven games aren’t replayable is so strange to me. I eventually bounce off every multiplayer game because I get bored, but I go back to story games again and again just like rewatching a favorite movie, or to experience something new

04.02.2025 23:12 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'll try to speak at meetups, refine my talks, and possibly come up with new ones.
The thing is... I don't know if I'm super interested in tech talks that show a lot of code and such.
I really want to talk about core skills more. Culture, mental health, diversity, neurodivergence...
Sent in 4 CFPs for conferences this year, and all of them got rejected. I think that's just part of the process though. There's only so many spots open and I don't have any reputation built up.
But even if I did, I believe rejection is just a part of speakership! No reason to be discouraged.
Get well soon!
31.01.2025 05:01 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Finally, using a tragedy to promote one's anti-DEI agenda is a new low, but hardly unexpected.
My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and as a figure skating fan, this is especially heartbreaking to me. 💔
Of course, that's the whole point of the anti-DEI movement. It means that mediocre people are no longer afforded the privilege they were accustomed to, and it levels the playing field.
Those in positions of power will typically experience movement towards equality as an attack.
