TBH, I adore craft talk and helping others, I really do, but when I am at a con at my signing table I am on the clock.

The only thing worse is the person who hovers in front of your table and chats with you for twenty minutes talking about their WIP and asking for tips, blocking anyone else from approaching your table and then walking away after never even flipping through one of you books.

Because there are blue skies in the afternoon, too.

Not sure priorities are straight. Clearly, new glasses means one must get a new book to read with them. Kids can wait ;)

So today, I am thinking of getting a technological tool to help me with an artistic project. No, it's not genAI. It will never be that. I'm flirting with the idea of getting a drawing tablet.

I can't countenance thieves stealing work and pretending it is mine. I can add a tool to my kit.

You never know quite how you did. Thanks to @hooliocesar.bsky.social we have a record. It was delightful to speak goofiness into the air.

The podium hides it mostly but since I wrote a fantasy noir I decided to go Inspector Gadget chic in a tan trench coat.

I so often wonder... have they never read any science fiction? These catalysts to dystopia have been written about since the 1800's.

I love how open and helpful the SFF writing community can be. We are an imperfect and motley mess, but there are so many cool and good people in this sphere.

Seeking hive mind info. I've been thinking to get a stylus to help with some graphic drawing. However, I would prefer to still draw on a pad or table and not on a monitor (I'm nervous about cracking the monitor) Do you have to draw on a computer screen or tablet for a stylus to work?

In the opening chapter of Hornytown Chutzpah, a demon enters Detective Sol Weiss' office because she's been framed for murder. She's wearing a "Sucker 4 Sin" T-shirt that features a giant lollipop.

So when my audiobook co-narrator came to read @charmcityspec.bsky.social, she came in costume.

Last night was something special. Not only because it was the world premier of Hornytown Chutzpah, my new novella, but because my co-audiobook narrator was able to be a part of this. It might be the only time we do this live. On top of that it was my mom's birthday!
