Like I don’t have a clear answer, but I don’t think US intervention is the solution, especially given its role in creating this situation in the first place

The difference is that no one actually recognizes Taiwan as an independent country, unlike Ukraine. I doubt China will invade unless the US backs Taiwan to change the status quo.

Well it’s not a binary between isolationism and interventionism. We can and should demand internationalism as a left wing foreign policy.

That has for the most part never described the US govt however. And if we are concerned about the global far right, I think picking a fight with China is deeply counterproductive.

However American leftists really are better off opposing US intervention then trying to support the seeming “good ones“ because they aren’t in charge of foreign policy!

A lot of Americans who recognize the US has done bad things overseas also believe that the US can fundamentally be a force for good in the world.
