In a Zero-Click World, Traffic is a Terrible Goal - SparkToro 60% of marketers say their top goal for the next 12 months is "increasing traffic." And 59% say their primary KPI is... also traffic. To all those folks,

Smashing Magazine sent out another good newsletter.

This time they talk about how measuring traffic to a site is a vanity metric, particularly in this era of people using AI to find what they need instead of going to source materials.

No worries at all,

overall we tend to lean more towards the social model of disability questions, but sometimes the medical model can help too, particularly if people are going to be talking about their specific health conditions and treatments

Hey @cjforms.bsky.social,

We often adapt our approach depending on the study and audience.

Here’s a good example of the types of questions we use:

Happy to chat if useful β€” we often bring parts of these into sessions to keep things well rounded.

@deanvipond.bsky.social looking forward to your session Dean!

I was in a meeting last week when you started presenting - but as I walked back into the office a couple of people said to me β€œit was brilliant” and they were looking forward to learning more. πŸ™Œ

I've been thinking about this post a lot today (related, my son got a detention for "not having his shirt tucked in") and the whole "seeing like a state" approach to rule-based and technocratically managed childhoods is so at odds with anything that will produce resilient, curious, confident adults

Had a great chat with Al Duggin today. He said something that I think every designer and developer should adopt as their accessibility mantra:

β€œDesigning to include means making experiences that work for as many people as possible, without them having to adjust anything for it to meet their needs.”

I was going to say something similar! Always love our natters.

AI is definitely changing the way people access information. I know some advice, and guidance organisations are already rethinking how their services are designed and delivered to users to help them stay relevant and trustworthy.

It’s a goodun, staring from the point of view of an individual and their perceptions of value and contribution - it slowly scales up through workplaces, communities, and society. Each time looking a perceptions of disadvantage and advantage and how those could be and have been leveraged as a tool.

BBC Sounds - Rethink, Rethink... winners and losers Why understanding zero-sum thinking can help explain modern politics and attitudes.

Thought provoking trip home this evening.

Winners and losers. Immigration, wealth, inequality. At the heart of it is zero-sum thinking: the idea that someone’s gain must mean someone else’s loss.

Good morning Accessibility team,

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been searching for high‑quality, inclusive image and photo librariesβ€”particularly those that feature people with access needs in work settings or engaged in tasks and activities.

If you know of any resources, I’d be really grateful.
