"There’s no doubt AI can unlock better public services...But that won’t happen by default. It only happens if we’re deliberate, not just about what AI can do, but who it’s doing it for."

Good morning Accessibility team,

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been searching for high‑quality, inclusive image and photo librariesβ€”particularly those that feature people with access needs in work settings or engaged in tasks and activities.

If you know of any resources, I’d be really grateful.

I'm very much in the same place. I've had some great chats on here, and seen some lovely content.

But i'm very much still in dip-in dip-out mentality.

I've just been added to this wonderful sustainable web resource directory - lowwwcarbon.com :)

I've got a little bit to do around file caching, and killing off a few JS libs that i don't need - but feeling pretty fired up.

This is the site report from ecograder.

Only just discovered this service - and it’s brilliant.

It tells you which platform a train will depart from, 30mins before departure.

Absolutely kills the need for the crazy Ryanair style rush to get on a train, 5mins before departure.

I’m gaining quite an appreciation for how well early morning train trips support you being a productivity power house:

* A quiet space to focus
* A place to bat around ideas
* Just enough internet to be productive
* Nice views
* A large latte
* and… Warm toes

I need a train carriage in the garden

Just saw an interesting piece from Zoe Klienman on an emergent AI start-up from China.

DeepSeek was developed for less than $6 million, uses only a fraction of the compute power and chips required by its much larger rivals.

Braille bricks - Lego box

Braille has popped up a few times in conversations this week.

It’s not a topic I know a lot about, particularly, when moving beyond digital interfaces.

But I’ve loved learning more about the print side of things this week, and the role of blind typesetters and printers

Also got a Lego fix too.

Would love to hear about that!

We’re starting to build a small repo of tools and tech that people can use to help them access services, and also to act as an educational piece.
