I love how I can look at this a year later and it's all still true. Except "first third" is "first half" because what do you mean this is the same year I met half of NotGames because May feels like it was years ago

100% feel that, we've had to cut down to just the one MCM weekend for now because the hotel prices are insane even when you go a bit outside of the main Excel area. (That may change if rest of the year is quiet but still, prices are rough these days)

especially amongst voluntary theatre companies, but I'd still definitely recommend anyone who gets the chance to go and see it. It's not a light show, it gets very dark at times but it explores the nature of love and depression in really interesting ways that makes you reflect on your own feelings

Regarding The Effect specifically, I wasn't familiar with Lucy Prebble's work before and I couldn't really see what was happening on stage but even so, I really enjoyed the story and so much came across even without being able to see. I know no two productions are the same (cont...)

Currently recovering from a week of running sound and AV ops for The Effect at the Crescent Theatre. This is the first show I've done a full run of sound (I'd done a couple of the King Lear shows back in November) and while I'm now exhausted, I had such a good time and was a great experience

I feel that. Even though I had other things going on there's still that tiny part of "oh, I'm not there"

Still, last work day tomorrow before Christmas, then Monday travel to Wales for a week, will be good to have a break and recharge

It's been a bit. I am bad at social media and also December has done the usual thing of zooming by even though the rest of this year has felt so long that anything from the first third feels like it happened last year 😅

That's been my post-con mood every con this year and yet somehow I'm still doing them 😅

Luckily my train issues weren't so bad, mine was delayed and they declassified First Class after I bought a new ticket to have more space but still ended up being not a crowded carriage so I call that a win

Masquerade was great, Firefly I had a ropey start as nerves got to me but got better as I went on, chess was incredibly fun as always and now I am home and flumped

Hotaru day one: a weird one, but Three Minute Presentation and the bingo were fun.

Day two so far: masquerade/Firefly check-in done, dealers hall spent in and now Zizzis before I have to change and prep for events later

Imposter syndrome kicking in hard today but managed a few hours in cosplau, did (well, rambled through) my Three Minute Presentation, now changing and chilling a bit before next event, so a slow start to Hotaru but that's okay

So I went on a nostalgia trip last night watching the old Foxy Fables shorts and forgot just how much of an earworm the title music was.

(Was low-key obsessed with the video I had of that as a kid)
