Needless to say, both the algebra and the calculus fact have to do the the change in volume of an n-dimensional (hyper)-cube.
The produce rule works the same way, but gaining intiution about these hyper volumes is tricky.

Try completing the square
A(x^2 + B/A x) +C= A[ (x+B/(2A))^2 - B^2/4A^2] + C
= A(x+B/(2A))^2 -[ (B^2 -4AC)/4A]=0
(x+B/(2A))^2= [B^2 - 4AC]/ (4A^2)

The quantity x^(n+1)/(n+1) is the (n+1)-Dim'l vol of a corner of the (n+1)-dim'l cube. The int^1_0 x^n dx is the same vol. It's not too hard to see that you can tile the cube with right rectangular pyramidal pieces. Related fact: the vol of the simplex {vec(x): 0<x1<x2<...<xn<1} is 1/n! .

I now think that derivative of x^2 is 2x is an arithmetical fact. 50^2=2500. 51^2= 2500+100+1. Roughly 2x50 more.
49^2=2401, roughly 100 less. Sim'ly, 48^2=2304, roughly 200 less, and 52^2=2704, roughly 200 more. This is related to @barbarafantechi.bsky.social 's remark.
