My folks and sister are impossible to buy for, and my parents are…. Not great at gift giving.

One year they gave me a tupperware container full of random junk

They found the lock box in a minor crime boss’s office (it’s actually 1200 platinum).
It was buried under a bunch of finger bones in the dude’s desk. The finger bones have numbers etched into them matching amounts owed in a ledger.
Also dude had an enchanted knife with bone chips in the handle.

Giving 12k gold to a low level party is like tossing a live grenade into the middle of the group.
