I think about how we grow up learning what happens to outsiders, how they are treated. And how that's a powerful fear to grapple with.

I think about the possibility that those engaged in conflict will focus on the most extreme members of "other side", saying 'LOOK! LOOK! DO YOU NOT SEE!?'. While simultaneously ignoring the most extreme members of their own group doing similar or worse things.
