Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together. This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. Luci Ferrous's streaming schedule, for March 8 to 14. The schedule is all in CDT time. It showsLook Outside on Tuesday from 5pm to 8; and the Pokemon romhack 'Too Many Types 2' on Wednesday from 5pm to 9. The schedule is imposed over books in a messy stack: two show their spine to the viewer, but the rest at an angle that shows the pages They sit upon a woodgrain desktop, with a red felt pad to protect it from scratches. There is a fire brazier in the foreground. with it's magical flame extinguished in favor of Melty the snowman, with ice cubes for abs. Their stick-arm is stuck at an odd angle at thet op of their torso, head squished & spread out just outside the brazier. And thus the final appearance of Melty the snowman for this winter. A blue overlay gives everything a chilly aesthetic to the scene. There is far less snow than the last few weeks. The background is a wood-paneled office, with coke bottle-glass windows for a clerk to work from. There are shelves full of books and scrolls, visible through the glass.

This is the thing about bathroom bans targeting trans people - assault is already a crime! Indecent exposure is already a crime! And laws that protect trans people don't suddenly make them legal

I lack the words to capture it, but ... it's just endlessly remarkable to me that so many people in our society have chosen trans kis -- TRANS KIDS, the smallest, least significant, most vulnerable demographic slice you could possibly pick -- as a repository for all their fears & insecurities.
