FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: A "Cold Weather Advisory" has been issued for Dorchester and inland Colleton Counties!

Wind chills in these counties - and potentially for other areas west of I-95 - are expected to fall into the upper teens by Tuesday morning!

BEAVER MOON: Moonrise has occurred over the East Coast... and what a beauty it is!

Tonight's full moon is the second of three consecutive "Supermoons", but this one will appear to be the largest of the year since the moon is closest to the Earth (perigee).

THIS WEEK: Temperatures are slowly on the rise as high pressure returns to the Lowcountry! We'll remain in the upper 60s for Monday and Tuesday afternoons... but abundant sunshine should work to warm us into the 70s beginning Wednesday.

COASTAL CAROLINA FAIR: Opening day will be a cool one at Exchange Park... but at least we'll see more sunshine! When the gates open at 3 PM, temperatures should span the 60s, but those will likely fall quickly throughout the evening and early overnight hours.

FIRST ALERT: A "high" risk of rip currents will continue through at least midweek for all Lowcountry beaches! Hazardous marine conditions could carry over into later portions of the week due to gusty offshore winds and developing swell from a distant #Melissa.

TROPICS: As of Saturday night, #Melissa has rapidly intensified into a Major #Hurricane (Category 3+) with little in the way to prevent further strengthening! Confidence remains high in an eventual landfall in #Jamaica by Monday or early Tuesday.

Measurements from the NOAA Hurricane Hunters have found hurricane-force winds as of 2 PM Saturday alongside stronger gusts. Quick strengthening is likely to begin this evening to the Southeast of #Jamaica.

TROPICS: The future intensity of Tropical Storm Melissa is trending higher as it drifts into a favorable environment in the Western Caribbean Sea! As of Wednesday evening, #Melissa remains a sheared system, but better organization is likely to occur by late week.

KINGSTREE: Overnight lows in the 30s made a return on Tuesday morning - marking the coldest temperatures we've seen in the Lowcountry since April!

Charleston International Airport cooled to 47°, which was also the coolest morning low of the season so far.

TROPICS: Per the National Hurricane Center, there is now a "high" likelihood for tropical development this week as Invest #98L moves into the Caribbean! As organization occurs, uncertainty still remains high in the eventual path of such a system.

FIRST ALERT: Winds will increase ahead of Sunday evening's front - perhaps to between 25-35 MPH at times! A "Lake Wind Advisory" has been issued for Orangeburg and Clarendon Counties where such winds could linger around into early Monday morning.

FRIDAY: A perfect fall-like day is on the way as we inch closer to the weekend! Temperatures remain on pace to start in the 40s inland (around 50° near the coast) before warming into the lower 70s later in the day.

TROPICS: Now that Lorenzo has dissipated, our attention now shifts to the Caribbean - a part of the basin that has been relatively quiet so far! If a new tropical wave can hold together as it moves westward, we could see some tropical formation by late next week.

KING TIDES: Impactful tidal flooding is likely along the Lowcountry coastline this week! Due to the combination of onshore winds and an approaching Full Moon, coastal flooding is expected with this week's high tides - including this evening's tide around 7:30 PM.

TOP 3 IMPACTS: #PTC9 will become better organized as it lifts northward towards the Lowcountry, bringing a risk of heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts and coastal impacts. Fluctuations in the forecast can, and will, occur as forecast models begin to align.

BREAKING: Invest 94L has been designated as Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) Nine as of Friday evening! Slow organization is expected to occur this weekend. There remains some uncertainty on its trajectory, which will have implications on future impacts.

INVEST 94L: Most forecast models are in strong agreement on slow development of a consolidated area of low pressure north of Haiti and Cuba. Our current steering pattern favors a general path towards the Southeast coastline through early next week.
