Police told Kelly Wilkinson to ‘cool off’ and give estranged husband ‘a break’ days before he burned her to death, inquest hears
Wilkinson was turned away by police while seeking help four days before she was murdered, Queensland coroner’s court told
A woman was accused of 'cop-shopping' by police because she'd been to 2 different police stations to report her ex-husband for stalking and threatening her. They told Kelly she needed to ‘cool off’ and to 'give him a break’. He stabbed her and burned her to death

It’s insane that the government doesn’t have a fail safe in place in the event that the President is a maniacal loser who starts a war without congressional approval. Like where are the checks and balances within the checks and balances?

don't think this administration (in uniform and out) has really come to grips (i think some are starting to sweat it) that the longer this goes on the more likely it goes very, very bad—but they have no obvious off ramp and a lead partner who desperately wants *no offramps*

If you excuse the Nazi tattoo, and the four year old racist Reddit posts, and the podcast appearances where he’s a big fan of the Nazi conspiracies,
How do you excuse the fact that he’s a massive fuckup who has never finished or succeeded at anything his whole privileged life?

Another member of the chat, William Bejerano — who tried to start a pro-life group at Miami Dade College — was the primary user of the n-word in the group. At one point, he posted a block of text calling for dozens of acts of extreme violence against Black people, who he referred to using the n-word, including crucifying, beheading and dissecting people. Bejerano hung up the phone when reached by the Herald.
Dariel Gonzalez, the College Republicans’ recruitment chairman at the time, responded in the chat: “How edgy.” “Ew you had colored professors?!” Gonzalez wrote at another point. “I reguse [sic] to be indoctrinated by the coloreds.” He told the group he used the term “colored” because, “I was told we cant say black anymore.” A couple days later, he added: “Avoid the coloreds like the plague.” He did not respond to a request for comment. The group chat members — which included some women — also frequently discussed sex, sometimes describing women as “whores” and at one point using the k-word, a slur for Jewish people, to describe women they avoid.
Fun fact, fox news once tried to sic a mob on me because I wrote that being hispanic didn’t mean you couldn’t be a white supremacist, because race is subjective and many hispanics identify as white. Completely unrelated here’s how some Miami Republicans talk in private

we went through over a decade of people claiming the iraq war issue was complicated, all to avoid the very simple response that should have been offered. no, the war was bad, we should end it, and it shouldnt be funded. period.
and all of that is the same with iran. its not a tough one.

10/? Ralph Nader was the Bernie Sanders of the time. And his followers had the same "Burn it all down" mentality, complete with a very loud and wrong Susan Sarandon. And then we got George W. Bush and he appointed 2 Supreme Court Justices, Alito and Roberts.

It sort of makes sense you’d be allowed to sink enemy ships during war. It’s just, when you pair that with “also we can be at war with anyone at any moment whenever I, the idiot president, feel like it, with zero rules whatsoever,” it kind of becomes a license to kill whoever annoys the GOP

'Backs against the wall' | Georgia farmers brace for price spike as Iran war rattles fertilizer markets
A key shipping lane carries a third of the world's traded fertilizer. Now it's caught in the crossfire.
Normally I’d post this as a FAFO article but this is for my #StayReadyCrew
It’s that time again. Check your supplies and make sure you have what you need/want.
Prices are going to rise (again) & some things may get scarce (again).

Positive news. There's still no cancer activity in my blood. Maintenance treatment works.
Now, if I could get all of the Cancer/reactions out of my skin then everything would be perfect.

The authority that Trump has asserted in taking America to war against Iran is, like many of his other power grabs, an expression of the very tyranny the Framers were seeking to prevent.
“Kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object,” a young congressman named Abraham Lincoln wrote in 1848. This was “understood to be the most oppressive of all Kingly oppressions and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us.” This quote, incidentally, is immortalized on the House’s website, if any members of Congress are looking for it.
The design of the Constitution divided warmaking authority between Congress and the executive to prevent a president to take the country to war by themselves for any petty or self-serving reason. You know, like a king would. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Balint to Noem: "You're the secretary of DHS -- for now. And you think you're immune from accountability. But I promise you this: one day he is not gonna be president anymore. And when that day comes, we will still be here. And in hearings like this, we are going to continue to prove your guilt."
