some teenage Nazis formed a swastika on their football field. they posted a Hitler quote with the pic about “international financial Jews” with it
some high school kids in Cali made a human swastika and posted it with a Hitler quote
motherfuckers in the comments are STILL going “criticizing Israel isn’t antisemitic” RIGHT OUT THE GATE
fool this is a goddamned Hitler quote it has nothing to do with Israel
try “noticing” that if you can

That's not what they're learning. What they're learning is that the mass public hates lockdowns and the consequences of them, and it's politically easier just to let it rip.
This is very bad, but it's not 'capitalism' at work here. It's a mass public with bad priorities.

In Second Temple Judaism you had the High Priesthood (the Aaronids, the Zadokites), who didn't care what you did outside the temple, so long as you performed the rites at the appointed times and did everything properly

7 O'clock News / Silent Night
Why Israeli didn't have a significant anti-war movement after October 7th?
Short 🧵
I was listening to 7 O'clock News/Silent Night today, and found myself wondering why Israel never really got a proper widespread anti-war movement over the last 2+ years.

The funny thing about edgy enlightened despot stanners is that what they really wanna be is a overgrown goddamn swine like Ceaucescu or Niyazov or Mugabe or Chavez.
And they get very upset when anyone points this out.

By the way this is why I know they’re lying when they say they knew who was on the boats and they’re all on a military list. The US military had somehow built a dossier on Robert Sanchez, the boat pilot living in a cinderblock house and earning $100 a month? He was next on the kill list after Osama?

Assuming this chart's accuracy, I can imagine only two ways to square it:
(a) AOC and her primary voters are shifting left together relative to her district overall, or
(b) the district overall is shifting right and Democrats represent a shrinking share of it.

There many whose foray into politics consisted of forming a cult-like attachment to Obama, only to blame him for obstruction by the GOP (& the now-gone blue dog Dems). Some then turned hating Dems into a personality, hence attachments to politicians who attack Dems, e.g., Bernie, AOC, later Mamdani.

Random tangent but I just went looking at the poor fellow's Wikipedia page, to see if he lived to see his namesake case get abrogated by war and amendments (he did not), and... I don't love the use of "nullified" in this paragraph

The correct response to passing 3/4 of the Green New Deal was not to go "this is worse than nothing, Biden doesn't give a shit about climate change, Hold Him Accountable!" the correct response was "this is a great start, but we need more Dems in power to get it done".
Instead people *lied*!

To the extent Americans are dissatisfied with American immigration, it's mostly that they don't like what the media has convinced them of: that we have too many immigrants, the border is permeable, and that violent undocumented people run rampant.
Biden and Obama largely addressed these concerns.

I mean politically. I support radically lowered restrictions on immigration and the end to visa quotas, but America is not there yet. The polls don't show us. And that's okay, I'm allowed to disagree with my neighbors and their votes are allowed to outnumber mine.

Mamdani is right, here, we do need Continuous Campaigning, but the reality is that you can't just run flashy videos online, eventually you have to get things done!
Even *AOC*, one of the most well-recognized and liked DSA-aligned figures, has seen her polling numbers consistently slip over time!

And on social media, we get the world we want to see, and get to be as whom we want to be seen. We are encouraged toward extremism in every aspect. A more extreme fan. A more extreme activist. We abandon nuance because we are not rewarded by our self-selected peers for it.
So nothing is just "OK."
