I’ve had migraines the past 3 days, but Luke found the one place open serving caffeinated beverages on Good Friday (since everywhere else in our very Christian nation is closed) and brought a latte and snacks to me in bed after he finished working. I feel so lucky and happy to be so loved.

One unexpected side effect of making more time for the things you love is that time truly flies by while you’re having fun. My weekends fly by in an instant now that I fill them with crafting, reading, video games, and spending time with Luke. I wish every day was a weekend day. 🥲

Daylight savings ended, we’re getting Autumn temperatures in the morning, and now my store’s trading hours are 9.30am-6pm. Every day I get to come home, eat dinner with my partner, and spend a couple hours together before. Life is good. #Gratitude 💖

Life in Aus: today I had a doctors appointment. My city is walkable so my dr’s office is a block away. I went in and got the refill on the medicines I need and left within about 10-15mins. Cost: $0. In the time I took to type this I already walked home from my appt. The American dream is leaving. 💖

My favorite person today was a customer who said “if you decide to have kids when you’re older” as if I’m not almost 40. I hope she has a great week. 🫶🏻 Bless her 💖💖💖

I finished another book last night so I’m ahead of schedule for my goal of reading 20 books in 2025. And I’ve still been making time for my other hobbies (mostly crafting) and my relationship. Moving overseas was the best choice for my mental health. 💖

Two days I ago I finished my 6th book of the year. I’ve been sick all weekend and stayed home from work today, which allowed me to get in lots of reading time between long naps and incessant coughing/sneezing. Now that I’m feeling better and the story is really picking up I can’t put the next book!

Have colds always been this awful? I picked up a little cold in Melbourne and I feel like it’s so much more painful and miserable than I remember. 😭

We will not be buying “Bundy,” but Luke and I are going to try to boycott American products. 🇦🇺💛💚

My favorite part of being in Melbourne is it’s the only place in the world you don’t have to listen to insufferable Melbourne coffee snobs complain about the coffee.

Yesterday was the first day of Autumn, but someone forgot to let the weather know. I’m so excited for Autumn temperatures to roll around and for cozy evenings snuggled up at home. It’s almost my favorite time of year!!! 🥰🍁🍃🍂

Favorite girl of the day: I was at the salon getting my grays covered today and the adorable youngin shampooing my hair kept talking to me and asking me questions that made it very apparent she didn’t know how old I was. When I told her I’m twice her age I could literally hear her brain rebooting.

Happy one year work anniversary to me. 🥰 It’s not perfect, but the people have been amazing and it was the perfect introduction into the Australian work force. 💖

Not to be geriatric but I just found out how much jelly cats cost and my flabbers are gasted. You paid HOW MUCH for a STUFFED ANIMAL?!!? I’m a big fan of letting people enjoy what they enjoy and live their life, but do you know how many other things you can buy for $80?! 😱

Another one down means I’ve completed 20% of this year’s goal to read 20 books. I finished today despite a week of horrific migraines and have still made time for my other crafty hobbies (like building this little cutie). 🥰

It’s bottle brush and leave your windows open when you sleep season. I’m so excited for summer to end and Autumn to begin. 😍😍😍

It’s beginning to feel like fall in the mornings! 🥰🥰🥰

Unfortunately, I woke up at 4am when Luke was getting up and ready for work. Fortunately, I was greeted with a big kiss, a lovely card, and a gift voucher for a deep tissue massage. I got the massage, we had Luke’s favorite dinner, and now we’re snuggled up watching rom coms. 💖 I love love.

After a week I’ve finished another book which makes 3 for 2025. Getting through the growing mountain of unfinished crafts hasn’t been going as quickly as my reading, but I’m glad it’s still going slowly but surely. 2025 continues to be the year I make time for the things I love (no doom scrolling).

Currently explaining Groundhog Day to Luke and it’s going exactly how’d you’d expect it to go.

This is not a thought and prayers post,,, this is heartfelt hurt for the families and friends and US Figure Skating and DC School District and everyone who is affected.

First craft and second book of 2025 done and dusted. This makes me sooo anxious and excited for the new ACOTAR book! Luckily I still have the Throne of Glass series (and so many craft projects) to keep me busy until then. 💖

Day 2 of fighting off the worst stomach bug of my adult life and boy isn’t that humbling. There’s a few things I miss about the US and one of the top things, I’ve realized in the past 24 hours, is I miss having a functional immune system that knows what it’s doing. 🤢👍🏻 Help

It's almost as if that Nazi salute we all witnessed was indeed a Nazi salute. I'd be eager to hear how the Magats spin this but hearing about Nazis makes me want to vomit. Australia is not far enough away from the US 💩show these days.

I love Australia and I feel so proud and fortunate to live here. I hope to one day celebrate on a day that isn’t full of grief and mourning for the original owners of this beautiful country.

One of my employees found a cockroach crawling on a table at work. She calmly swatted it on the floor and then repeatedly kicked it out of the store. At one point the bug was running towards the door and she still came up and kicked it out. The roach is still alive. Australians are built different.
