- Background colors
- Composition
- Contrast with the foreground
- Detail up close and far away
- Simplifying shapes and detail
- Buildings
- Nature

-There's tons of resources out there on making solid character designs. Here's some I found on Google ages ago. Mess around with proportions and shapes! Turn objects or animals into characters! Experiment! EXAGGERATE!

Oh gosh, I don't even know what qualities my designs even have that make them 'my designs'!

I think what helped me was to have more fun with them and be more self indulgent. To make designs that I really want to see, rather than what I think others may like. Overall I use a lot- (1) #asks
