I got the Platinum trophy a couple of days ago and I find myself still playing it and I can't tell how much of that is just the autistic routine of having been playing it lately vs how much it's because it's actually really good

It is really good, but do you know what I mean?

I haven't; The only VR I have is the original PlaystationVR, and I've not even used it in ages cos it's all such a hassle to set up, especially on a PS5

But now you mention it boxing totally is something that should work with VR; Short distance movement and motions. I should to try it sometime

Also totally taking influencer credit for posting about boxing games then having an article happen a few days later that basically just says what I said but far better 👀😆

I played FN Round 3 back in the day & Undisputed gives me the same feels & sensations & it's interesting the article has no mention of it & is instead like "Boxing games don't exist anymore"

Certainly not as common as they were.

And I do sometimes beat them with my basic non dlc guys, and it's satisfying when I do.

But, like, there have definitely been occasions where I've totally outboxed a guy and they just win cos even though they hit me less they hit me harder cos of stats and that's frustrating

Trying to ignore the fact that it is also slightly pay to win as ofc all the boxers have different stats and the ones who are paid dlc have the highest stats

Most of my losses come against those guys & it's not really fair

But that's just gaming in the modern age

But yeah, Undisputed is pretty good

Not everyones cup of tea, due to the slower pace

But if your fingers don't act as fast as your brain as much as they used to but you do like fighting games then honestly it's really good

And that's the magic of PSPlus, cos I'd have never ever bought it

I know the whole "old man gaming" thing isn't new, and also I'm not really an old man

But as a former esports world champion who is still generally good but who just doesn't have the same reflexes and reactions etc as when they were younger it maybe it something I should totally lean into more

It scratches the Street Fighter itch but because it's a realistic boxing sim you don't need the reflexes of a teenager to play it well

Like, legit, it's a proper "old man" fighting game where yes there are combos but they happen at a pace that makes them manageable

Last month I downloaded Undisputed on PSPlus thinking "I'll give it a go, but probably just a wee go to see what it's like, not expecting to get into it" and now I'm on the verge of the Platinum trophy and I've been really enjoying playing online ranked fights etc

As much as I'd obv like to win more and keep doing it and keep it growing etc as well as the fact that the trophy I won is basically just a little basic low level regional thing I also kind of feel like the fact that I did win it in under 2 years against seasoned vets means I've proved my point

But if I'm supporting everything all the time then who's supporting me?

And before anyone is like "wtf, how are you the saviour"

The people in charge have been in charge for 40 years and have done nothing. In 2 years I've gotten 16 new members. That's 16 more than in the 40 previous years.

If I make no effort it dies

On the one hand if I'm in the right mood then being on the green makes me chill but focused at the same time. Like it's where I'm meant to be

But I cba with all the bs and the politics and unfortunately the bs and the politics are unavoidable because my club will be dead in 5 years without me

At the moment I aint died for about 10 runs in a row & with each run completed I level up the characers even more making them even more OP on levels that don't get harder

Not having a proper pop at it. I appreciate its ideas but it's lost the compelling nature of the challenge with the level ups

Using that term "misinterpreted" there just reminded me of a time as a teen when friends and I were all tasked with describing eachother with 1 word and someone literally said "misunderstood" as the word for me

But was also before an autism diagnosis & is funny to look back at

I'm really bad at keeping in touch with people & I always have been & it always gets misinterpreted as me not wanting to be in touch with them when in reality it's just me not wanting to be a burden, overbearing, or in contact too much, & I really do want to be in touch but it's anxiety/autism

We were 9 shots down and then the rain came and you may or may not remember a few weeks ago when I said "I'm not a rain player" after it was raining before a final I was due in

But this evening I was stepping up to the mat with us 3 or even 4 down in the rain & winning us the shot

That's progress!

I know right? I almost just said "Fuck it, you win" cos I was pissed off at blowing my 11-6 lead and crumbling, but it turns out that being pissed off works for me cos I got 7 shots in 2 ends

Legit feel bad for the loser while being so close to winning. But that's just cos I'm nice.
