βLast year, at Christmastime, Halifax Mayor Andy Fillmore gave councillors copies of a self-help bookβ
WTF
His lack of self-awareness never ceases to astound me.
09.03.2026 15:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Halifax city government is decidedly not real. Not only does the province not let Halifax set its own speed limits, a bill last year gave them power over transportation, and a bill theyβre trying to pass now would give the province more power over land use, and decision-making power over sprawl

There's a difference between feeling unsafe and uncomfortable.
MLAs are not unsafe in Province House. Closing down the second floor to the public is a cowardly move. They did it because some of the MLAs feel uncomfortable with the cuts, and won't admit it.
I see parallels between magical thinking about taxes (βwe should only tax the richβ) and magical thinking about housing (βwe should only build affordable housingβ)

Tony Manciniβs βwe donβt make fleet beg for fuel, so we shouldnβt make the libraries beg for their collectionsβ line has been stuck in my head.
Buying less single-use fuel was in no way shape or form up for discussion in all those austerity talks.
With the province cutting grants to organizations that support adults with disabilities, many of these organizations are looking at cuts to programming for those who need it.
The province says the funding will now go to the individuals instead of organizations.

Local news outlet: Young people aren't buying cars, and it's not for the reason you think.
Me: Is it because they can't afford them?

Nova Scotia is closed! Unless you wanna mine uranium I guess. #YHZ

Intersection of Herring Cove Road and Willams Lake Road for the collision around 9:30 p.m. Amber Sampson Author Thanks for this. I didn't see this posted. The police followed up today and are currently investigating and getting camera footage. When the police followed up they informed us someone else called it in. At that time the car left so once my daughter gathered herself she made her way home. She didn't know someone called it in. 1h Like Reply
