We are saddened to hear that the children's author Allan Ahlberg has died, aged 87. With his wife, the illustrator Janet Ahlberg - and later other great illustrators - he wrote a stream of brilliant classics that made bedtime a joy for children and adults. Here are a few we hold at the IOE Library.

For the non-poets: most UCL Libraries are shut all-day on Tuesday 24 June for a staff conference. The Student Centre is open as usual, and Main Library will be open for study spaces. Service will resume as normal on Wednesday 25 June.

Rut-a-tut-tut the library is shut; shut for a day, so stay away; but be back Wednesday. Be aware, a conference is in session; but don't fear for study space is near.

Work is underway! Our study spaces are now closed until August while the redevelopment takes place. We are still here ready to help you pick up Click and Collect requests, borrow a laptop and print. See our previous post for great alternative study spots in the IOE or explore other UCL libraries.

Students and staff are welcome to study in empty classrooms. Check whether the room is free by scanning the QR code next to the door - you may be asked to move if it has been booked.

Where can I study while the IOE Library's spaces are closed? There are lots of great spots here in the IOE suitable for quiet and group study. Why not explore some of these hidden gems. You might find the computer cluster with a great view of the BT tower, or the open plan study area in the Wing.
