The new section of our book display on Level 4 is celebrating #LGBTQ+HistoryMonth, used to highlight the achievements of LGBT+ people across the world and history.

The theme this year is 'Science and Innovation' looking specifically at the contributions of LGBTQ+ scientists and researchers 🧪

Today, UCL turns 200. 🎉 For two centuries, our community has opened doors, challenged convention and pushed the boundaries of knowledge across every discipline. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the UCL story, here’s to the next century. ✨

Join us for a fun, free introduction to German language and culture on Friday 13 February from 14:00-15:00. The session has a carnival theme, and everyone is welcome - no prior knowledge of German is needed. Just drop by the Library Teaching Room in the IOE Library to take part.

Session 1 focuses on how to conduct an initial scoping search, and should be attended before Session 2, which looks at advanced search strategies using academic databases. The workshops are suitable for students in education, sociology and related areas. Book now at tinyurl.com/5ku98rxc

This year is the National Year of Reading, a theme celebrated in our current Level 4 book display. It takes in reading for pleasure, children's literature, and learning and teaching about reading. You can even let us know what your favourite book is! Just post its title in the box.

Happy Library Shelfie Day! Started by the New York Public library in 2014, today is all about taking a selfie with a shelf to celebrate your favourite books.
