The genius of #RedDwarf, particularly the early series and that first book, is that it captured so perfectly a sense of existential loneliness. And, in so doing, made so many of us who were adrift, feel less alone. That's why I'll always be thankful for the imagination of Rob Grant and Doug Naylor.

I do find, in general, that the Dorothy L Sayers books haven't aged as well as Agatha Christie's. They're not as tightly or cleverly plotted, even in the slimmer stories like Whose Body. But she's good on the mores and manners of the time. A bit Wodehouse but with added bloodshed?
