Suspected people smuggling gang taken down in nationwide strikes Seven members of a suspected organised crime group believed to have made millions have been arrested in West Yorkshire and Essex.

Another people smuggling gang has been arrested this week.

They are accused of smuggling over 500 people in to the UK and exploiting them once here. The ring leader is believed to have had £1.3m passing through his bank account, despite earning £35k, showing the large sums they take from victims.

UK ‘second most attractive country for investment’, survey finds The survey of chief executives, published ahead of the World Economic Forum, follows an upgraded growth forecast from the IMF

In a further backing for the Labour government's approach, a survey of CEOs from around the world has found the UK has now become the second most attractive country to invest in, behind only the US.

This is the UK's highest ever ranking in the 28 year history of the survey.

That suggests a good level of economic stability and confidence in the UK. It will boost the value of investments and pensions and overall should give companies the confidence to grow...

...so expect to hear little of this across the media.

More good news about the UK economy, as the IMF upgrades their forecast of UK growth this year to 1.6%.

But look at these top stories - the Telegraph the IMF downgrading growth - but that was last year, when the Tories were in power for half of it & their polices impacting the majority of the year.

The suggestion here is that sales value has gone down, but sales volume has gone up.

If true, that means prices are lower.

Is that not good news for people who are still suffering from the Tory choas that lead to 10% inflation?
