Here come the “raping teenage girls isn’t actually that bad” arguments from the right.

The soft pedaling language being used to describe the men in the Epstein files is enraging.

They didn’t “have sex with underage girls”.

They raped them.

Sex implies consent.

The survivors deserve better than this. Use the correct language. Say what these men did.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

Was the emergency meeting supposed to be a secret? Because the optics of having to have an emergency meeting about your long friendship with the sex trafficker are not great.
