Adobe Animate is safe…for now at least.

If anyone else wants an Adobe Animate alternative, I can’t recommend Moho enough. It’s affordable, it’s efficient, it’s been used in feature films from Cartoon Saloon like Wolfwalkers, and the best part…NO Ai whatsoever.

The more I think on it? The more Im inclined to believe that Adobe is CAUSING the problem of there being no other animation software in their catalog, only to "SOLVE" said-problem with an AI-focused software but for animation.

Tin-foil hat hours? Maybe. But can you put it past them?

We are Not blaming our peers who rely on these tools. Stop. You are not helpful.

Adobe patents extremely useful functions and makes it impossible for other software developers to create things even comparable.

I think the thing that really irks me about the Adobe news is that, for over 20 years, Flash was easily the most accessible program for people to learn animation with. Even if most of the people I knew got it illegitimately, the easy accessibility was a boon to new animators. Now that’ll be gone—-

I note saying that I believe that even if you think you have no artistic skill, I'd rather see your effort than your A.I.

I personally dont think that term is very relevant these days. The western industry isn't exactly hiring right now. This would be the perfect time to learn something else that is way cheaper.

Its also freakishly buggy and way too expensive to justify using long-term.

My knee-jerk reaction is to tell folks to find an alternative but this decision ruins alot of people's private and workplace workflows.

If you can find a free copy, do so. You shouldnt be paying for shit service anyway.

I kinda get why folks are upset why Adobe Animate wont be available to download with Adobe anymore. We used Adobe Flash pretty heavy during BoJack, its widely used amongst animation studios, super accessible and its easy to learn.

I was thinking this as well. Had they figured it out, they surely would've tried.

It also doesnt have as much versatility as After Effects either so if voyrse Adobe is like... "who needs it??"

I’m quietly convinced that Adobe is killing Animate because they can’t figure out how to squeeze AI into our unhinged little animations.
