31.10.2025 14:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finished this morn, and while reading I periodically wondered if I was having a stroke, or experiencing that strange rush of meaningless-yet-meaningful images you get when returning to consciousness after passing out. Loved it.
31.10.2025 14:09 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs brilliant.
31.10.2025 13:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great essay by @sarahweinman.com on del Toro's "Nightmare Alley," for Criterion.
31.10.2025 12:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Two book events this weekend! Both with exceptional writer friends.
Saturday in DC: Politics & Prose with @carlhoffman.bsky.social at 3pm. Details here: politics-prose.com/lance-richar...
Sunday in Providence: Riffraff with @francescawade.bsky.social at 6pm. Details here: riffraffpvd.com/events/
I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.
29.10.2025 22:23 β π 7499 π 3967 π¬ 52 π 792Had a brilliant event tonight at @thelynxbooks.bsky.social in Gainesville. Dreamy bookstore. The best.
30.10.2025 02:02 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In my obviously wrong because immigrant understanding, New York culture is that racist opportunists like Cuomo are beneath contempt β but hey, what do I know? Dumb dual citizen and all.
29.10.2025 16:42 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I too am a dual citizen and am sad to hear that it means I cannot possible βunderstand New York culture,β even though I lived there for seven years and wrote a book that was partly about New York (gay) culture.
29.10.2025 16:39 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I did! Dunn is excellent.
28.10.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's definitely 3pm! (And I'm seeing 3pm on the events pages and the calendar on my end here.)
27.10.2025 20:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Good lord, who cares? It is really not worth litigating this.
27.10.2025 19:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Amazing. He had a hell of a life.
27.10.2025 18:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes! But he was certainly not at Pearl Harbor for the bombing. And various other weird claims (including, as you note, the claim about the snow leopard being the only book known in the UK! Christopher MacLehose, his longtime editor in London, would have something to say).
27.10.2025 17:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0From a crewmember on yesterday's Teal 74 mission into now-Category 5 Hurricane #Melissa. As clear of an eye as you will see in the Atlantic basin.
27.10.2025 16:11 β π 2795 π 1057 π¬ 53 π 126Going to be a fun one. DC peeps, come out for it!
27.10.2025 17:06 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Right, but unless you read a guide thereβs no way itβs 30 minutes.
27.10.2025 17:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of many surprising errors in this piece to be honest!
27.10.2025 17:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Donβt accept the associated quest until youβre absolutely ready. Hours of pain.
27.10.2025 12:43 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Australian Cartoonists Association welcomes the decision of the federal Attorney-General, Michelle aRowland, to reject the Productivity Commissionβs proposal to exempt tech companies from copyright laws, which would have handed them free rein to mine creative content to train their Artificial Intelligence models, without recognition or recompense for artists. We are glad the Albanese Government recognises the value and precarious of the creative industries and encourage their ongoing support of artists in all fields. Cathy Wilcox President ACA
A statement from me, on behalf of the Australian Cartoonists Association:
27.10.2025 10:09 β π 990 π 268 π¬ 27 π 10I was at an event the other night and Kathleen Turner was there too, and when somebody told me I gasped, βJessica Rabbit!β And they looked at me like Iβd lost my mind.
26.10.2025 21:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0God-tier movie.
26.10.2025 20:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Actually it is my favorite book of the year. Makes most contemporary American fiction look anemic and unimaginative by comparison.
26.10.2025 19:16 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0B&W photo of Atwood at a desk in an empty room, typing

Enjoying this new Pynchon novel so much. It is exactly what I needed right now, highbrow nonsense.
24.10.2025 21:33 β π 11 π 2 π¬ 0 π 1Open the page. Scroll down to the timeline. Go through the timeline.
Itβsβ¦ shocking
This whole "getting reviewed in national and international publications" thing is bloody stressful.
23.10.2025 20:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reviewed in the Spectator UK. (Link here to the Australian edition, which has no paywall.)
βImpressive ... A rigorous and balanced account of this restless soul."
