Well I feel confident that my ipad air 11 2024 (+apencil pro) will work long enough. Battery doesn’t usually live long but fortunately that’s replaceable.

I don’t know much about pencil/ipad compatibility but what I think most important is memory. I’d recommend 128GB and more.
It’s always better to choose newer models but you don’t have to rush and grab super new.
