the brunette took the hand, giving a firm shake.

“ would you like to join me for a coffee? ”

she shook her head.

“ going to be stubborn or let me help? ”

the brunette followed a bit, keeping a distance.

she’d undress. showering not as long as she wanted before she got out. dried off and dressed. her eyes moved to clint before she frowned.

“ arrows, wake up. i gotta clean you and restitch. ”

a small grin.

“ oooh, very thoughtful. ”

a small snicker escaped her as she moved to the bathroom. looking at herself in the mirror for a moment. covered in dust. a bit of dried blood.

“ i got the candy to pass out to the trick-or-treaters! ”

“ shit . . . ”

she whispered to herself.

“ he’ll be alright till later. ”

jessica let them into the motel and up to their room.

her eyes rolled playfully, lingering in his arms for but a few moments before she pulled away. starting back towards the motel now.

“ i’m going to take the longest bath ever. ”

“ thank you! ”

the brunette nodded with a warm smile.

“ i’m jessica, by the way. ”

“ i can walk . . . just maybe a boost up? ”

she was becoming fond of that nickname.

kinda liking it.

“ if you don’t mind. ”

“ i noticed. like my new york but . . . uno reversed? ”

the spider teased with a grin.

“ do you know of a good coffee place around here? ”

“ what a gentleman. ”

the brunette teased before eyes moved upwards. arms stretching.

“ a bath sounds wonderful. ”

jessica felt herself settled. the mask being ripped off as she could finally get a decent breathe of air.

coughing a bit.

“ think i’ve had enough of being a hero for today. ”

truly, it was their only safety. all they knew.

eyes closing as she focused on her breathing.

“ like my lungs are on fire. ”

she coughed a bit at the pats.

“ seems like a plan. we keep everything on the hush. find a nice two bedroom place. ”

Jessica was already planning in her head. she liked having everything already thought out.

“ what kind of look? ”

the brunette teased.

“ i . . . um, nothing. nothing at all. ”

“ we still have to figure out what the hell to do. we are gonna have to eventually settle down somewhere until we can figure this out. ”

she’d whisper, closing the distance between as the spider peaked up.

sheepish staring.

“ not yet. they might be friendly to the civilians but . . . don’t know how they are going to feel about us. ”

her nose wrinkled a bit.

“ seems all the spiders know one another. i’d stick out like a sore thumb. ”

“ i . . . don’t think so? ”

green eyes watched almost in awe as she watched them swinging about. helping people. assisting the wounded.

“ not that i’m aware of at least. ”
