Didn’t realise that when I bought this small jar of nutmeg with a tiny grater inside in 2003 it would be all the nutmeg I would ever need in my entire life.

Just before I started I actually found a perfectly spherical pebble on Margate beach and kept it in case I needed it for the new job… 😅

I had to pick a new book to go on the table in Helen Ede’s bedroom so was rifling (I think that’s a conservation term, right?) through the shelves where all the good ones are… I didn’t choose this one but it looked interesting. I also found the Edes’ collection of Babar the elephant books…

A very enjoyable day at the symposium on Hans Coper’s work I organised at Kettle’s Yard with my colleague Naomi Polonsky. She will be curating a show on Coper’s work for 2027 with Andrew Nairne. Pleased at how shiny my hair looks here…
