Yesterday in Lake Alfred. Border Patrol still terrorizing our neighborhoods. They were on cove rd at 7pm so it seems like they were there for a considerable amount of time. Another man commented on how they are acting calm so they can trick you. @polkdec.bsky.social

@polkdec.bsky.social detained last week in Plant City. Then was transferred to a concentration camp hours away from Plant City even though this camp was court ordered to be shut down. Then deported to Mexico before due process. ICE/ DHS/ HSI and Border Patrol is here terrorizing our communities.

This week marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Unfortunately, our political climate is such that instead of joyfully celebrating the many and varied contributions Hispanic People have made to our collective American greatness, our friends and family live in fear. The Supreme Court's recent Shadow Docket destruction of the Fourth Amendment was a chilling prologue to what is supposed to be a celebration. The Polk County Democrats remain committed to supporting our Hispanic Heritage as Hispanic Heritage is American Heritage. There is no American Culture without Hispanic Culture. Most importantly, we remain dedicated to advocating against the terrorizing and unlawful detention of these communities. In these times we also must be defiant with our collective joy. In our joy we maintain our dignity, our pride, and our strength. In this spirit, come out for the Polk County Hispanic Heritage Festival on September 20th from 10am-2pm at Gwynn Park in Winter Haven.
