It is Wednesday My Dudes
08.10.2025 16:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yesterday I watched "The Bad Guys 2" and that same day I found out it was based on a comic of the same name.
I looked at the comicβs cover, flipped through a few pagesβ¦ The comic and the animation are worlds apart. DreamWorks did an amazing job with the adaptation!
I really wanted to see more of the characterβs development over time, not just a quick βshe was like this - now sheβs like thatβ.
06.10.2025 14:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What follows is mostly chases and shootouts, while the most important part stays off-screen: how did she live all those years alone? Itβs mentioned briefly, but feels like the theme is pushed to the background - maybe even the third plane.
06.10.2025 14:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve read the comic βGoneβ - an interesting sci-fi story, but way too short, only three issues! The first one just manages to introduce the main character and the world, and then - bam! a sudden ten-year time skip.
06.10.2025 14:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just a few more sketches from @vivilisi.bsky.social , this time in color.
05.10.2025 14:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On some of our comic pages and individual panels, there was a problem - the necessary accents were missing. @vivilisi.bsky.social is working on this problem now, and here are some of her studies for this theme.
04.10.2025 16:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do you set aside time for self-reflection in your own field? Do you notice your gaps yourself, or do you need an outside perspective?
03.10.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0While Iβm still swamped with my main job and barely have any time left for working on comics, we decided to take some time for self-reflection. We identified a few problematic areas that weβre now planning to work through.
03.10.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Their first album turned out just amazing - a bit of nonsense, a continuous storyline running through the songs, and of course, epicness. After that, though, it became more of a 50/50 mix.
02.10.2025 16:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The band βBrotherhood of the Beaverβ (It's Russian heavy metal band) released a mini-album yesterday. A great reason to remember that we once made a one-page comic based on their song βRaccoon Necromancerβ. That was my idea - I really like this band :)

01.10.2025 13:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So I had to take the course - and now Iβve even got a certificate! π Now I know that asking employees to change a light bulb or move a box without a proper clause in their contract is strictly forbidden.
30.09.2025 13:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today I had to deal with some βgrown-up stuffβ. Iβve got a legal entity registered in Kazakhstan, and it suddenly turned out that even if Iβm the only employee, the company still needs a specialist in labor and fire safety.
30.09.2025 13:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve been paying attention to my socials for two months now. Yes, it takes time and energy, but you canβt get anywhere without at least some activity - itβs just as much a part of the work as the comic itself.
29.09.2025 13:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This book really makes the brain work. Iβm glad it turned out not to be an empty read.
28.09.2025 12:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Or letβs take a line in perspective and divide it into equal parts.Or construct a perpendicular. Youβre staring at 50 lines - some are guides, some are auxiliaries, some are auxiliaries to auxiliaries - and in your head itβs just: βAAA! Where did that line come from? Why is this one going that way?β
28.09.2025 12:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0With simple examples, everything makes sense. But once you complicate things a littleβ¦ For example, try drawing two boxes in two-point perspective so that they donβt share any parallel edges - suddenly itβs no longer just two vanishing points, but each object has its own pair.
28.09.2025 12:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm reading a book on technical perspective. One-point, two-point, three-point perspective - I know the basics, and at first it seemed like, really, how hard could it be?
28.09.2025 12:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Overall, the impression is quite positive: the story is told in an engaging way, and some scenes stand out thanks to their unusual perspective. I also liked the narrative style - it has something special about it.
27.09.2025 14:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read the comic βThese Savage Shoresβ. To be honest, the vampire theme doesnβt really grab me. The story reminded me a bit of the movie βUnderworldβ - only here the events take place not in modern times, but in the 18th century, mostly in India and a little in London.
27.09.2025 14:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We took a bit longer than expected with this comic, but now itβs finally time to move on to the main story!
The events of the new comic will unfold in the same world. By the way, thatβs also where the story of "One More Time" took place.
But the release is definitely coming tomorrow! I just need to finish the accompanying text to give a bit of context for the scene weβre showing β¨
25.09.2025 12:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Weβve kind of delayed publishing the new one page comic π, and we still havenβt gotten to the main story: Iβm swamped with work projects (hopefully Iβll clear them up soon and finally focus on the comic), while @vivilisi.bsky.social has her hands full with the cats - not easy to stay focused either.

24.09.2025 12:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Marvel Zombies comes out today but how good is the Marvel Zomnibus itself?
24.09.2025 11:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But Iβm more drawn to stories where time moves forward. Where events leave their mark on the characters, change them, and make the story deeper. Those are the stories I want to revisit again and again.
23.09.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are advantages to this: characters work like game models that can be endlessly placed into new situations, with their past experiences having little effect.
23.09.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of the features of comics is βfrozen timeβ. Characters can remain almost unchanged for years. Think of "The Simpsons" or "South Park" - after decades, the characters are still essentially the same.
23.09.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I realize that the only way to move forward is together with you. So any reaction (like/share/comment) is a huge support for us and a sign that weβre moving in the right direction π
