I went to the beach with my family yesterday and when we got back and pulled into the driveway, I look to my left and look what I see! This is a Banded Sphinx Moth! It was just a little bit smaller than my palm! 😍

I was at the beach with my family when I spotted it, there were about five of them resting in a tree. Luckily I brought my camera! 😁

Listed as a "species of greatest conservational need", Atala butterflies were once almost wiped out due to over harvesting of the Coontie palm. Thanks to more use of the plant in landscaping, they are making a comeback!
