I wrote a short poem after watching a particularly stunning fireworks show with my family, through tears. I'm actually quite pleased with it, but I'm sure it won't be long before I absolutely hate it. Such is my life.

Tony Stark had to be like, a super-delegator. He knew what was going on during the events of Winter Soldier. SHIELD was leading a man-hunt for Captain America. Nick Fury "died". Tony was literally just chilling somewhere, drinking martinis, listening to the news like, "Cap can handle it."

Even the lightsaber fights in The Acolyte kick ass. Like, seriously, it's so fucked how a bunch of whiny assholes ruined such a goddamn masterpiece.

The common denominator? Well gosh, I wonder...

Ironically, the best part of OWK received an absurd amount of vitriol: Reva, an incredible antagonist played by a gorgeous and talented black woman.

An incredible Star Wars antagonist played by a black woman is despised. An incredible Star Wars show starring black women gets cancelled.

Obi-Wan Kenobi wasn't even as good as The Acolyte. The acting was subpar and the plot didn't make sense, but contrary to what people like to claim, *everyone* is a sucker for fan service.

The Acolyte was so good and had so much potential and they really just cancelled it because it got review-bombed by a bunch of psychopaths before it was even available to watch.

Ugh, racists ruin everything.

It's been a week. The shock part is over; the awe part never happened. Time to be throwing sand into the fascist gears, y'all.

Anti-intellectualism is a disease and it's killing us.

More people need to be looking things up, not just because they're ignorant, but because they want to be as certain as possible that they have everything right and aren't believing or spreading misinformation.

And more people need to understand what a "reliable source" is.

If Germany had caught on to Hitler's strategies earlier on, maybe things wouldn't have turned out so horrific.

The climate of fear and confusion he's creating.

It's true that we need to keep level heads so that we're ready if/when the fascism really hits the fan, but downplaying the fact that these early steps toward fascism are STILL STEPS TOWARDS FASCISM is plain irresponsible. People NEED to be aware.

Arguing that we can't call it fascism because we lost the election is such a fucking bananas take. Hitler was democratically elected too.

It's not about what Trump is accomplishing in this moment. It's about the groundwork he's setting. The people he's empowering and those he's disenfranchising.

Well, guess I'm not a big Jon Stewart fan anymore.

This may be a product of the democratic process, but to try and make light of the very real fears of fascism overtaking our country isn't fair to those of us being targeted by hateful policies that intend to erase us or make us enemies.

The new SOD looks like he'd get targeted by punks in the mosh pit... and definitely *not* because his chest tats give white supremacist vibes./s

I mean. I'm not crazy, right? That cross is sus as fuck.

Makes sense. Obviously, the DOJ must serve as the president's flying monkeys and not, you know, impartially defend law and order, because that would just be ridiculous.

The way Beni had multiple different religious contingency plans in case he thought he was about to die... That's fucking hilarious. 😂

2. Those ancient Egyptians really "cursed" a guy to be undead and super powerful forever? Seems kind of stupid to me. You can't just count on being able to keep him contained *forever*.

So, I'm watching The Mummy, and I have a couple questions...
1. Did the people who made this movie not learn the very basic rule of filmmaking that voice-overs are a crutch and lazy af? Show, don't tell, dumbass.

3. Remember: Feeling overwhelmed is the point. When you recognize this, you regain some power. Take breaks. Process. This is a marathon.

Traditional media can't keep up with the pace, leading to superficial coverage. The result? Weakened democratic oversight and reduced public engagement.
