Okay. Got it! There are 2 places I know of- Hughes, Rise of Alchemy (book) pp 103-5; and Young Magic in Merlin’s Realm (book) pp 100-101. It’s E II’s mom, Isabella, who is into alchemy. And John Erghome (or Ergum), an Augustinian friar and alchemist says that she secured accession thru occult means.
