Fair point. Not a bad shout at all. Just feel for him because he's far too good to be a squad player but equally he has not been able to show it for a while now.

But finding the way to stay fit is clearly the most difficult part for him!

Yeah, for sure. Has to be the worst thing a footballer can go through really - and he has had to deal with it too often.

It is a tricky one. Maresca's comments re captaincy were of course about his leadership behind the scenes etc but equally, when you look at it now, surely how long your captain is actually on the pitch makes a big difference.
