19.07.2024 09:14 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Thank you. I don't wish to talk about this out of this account. I hope you understand. In a previous incident I received death threats so I'll keep my identity very private. I know your intentions are good but I don't wish to risk any leak of my personal information.
19.07.2024 09:13 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'm not sure what does verifying email has to do with this in that way. Bluesky should make verification mandatory, that might help, but potential victims having the email verified or not I don't understand what difference does it make.
19.07.2024 09:09 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes but I can't handle everything. I need the bot to avoid things it can't automatically handle. So when we detect that an account looks like an impersonation and we know it's not I put it in a "whitelist" so it isn't accused by my bots anymore. The account, I don't store those payment details.
19.07.2024 08:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0But then it ignored the "confirmed=false" and warn about those being scam payment details.
19.07.2024 08:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0If the bot detects an impersonation and then that "supposed to be impersonator" publishes an email or payment link the bot stores them in a list called "blacklist" as if those were scam payment details, but with an attribute confirmed=false.
19.07.2024 08:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Because if an impersonation is a false positive then I could blacklist the wrong payment info. That usually doesn't happen because random people usually don't give payment details but this gaza-GFM accounts usually create second accounts and they do give payment details, so I fucked up.
19.07.2024 08:39 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0So I started blacklisting payment info for the case it's used by people not detected as impersonation. But then the scammer started changing payment link fast so I linked the two systems so it blacklisted payment info if it was used by an impersonator. That's the big mistake.
19.07.2024 08:37 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You are very kind. I do what I can. At first I only detected impersonation (similar accounts, one with much more content than the other one) but then the scammer started to make worse impersonations so I can't detect them as such. 👇🏻
19.07.2024 08:36 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I appreciate your point of view, thanks.
19.07.2024 08:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I warn people about certain scammer everyday. I personally know people who thought they were donating to charity and that scammer got it from them. It is one who impersonates people in need. Look for the thanks in my posts if you don't believe it.
18.07.2024 21:52 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0But that feature is not complete so the bot accused innocent people, and people that really need help and who can't afford being accused. Their lives might depend on not being called scammers.
18.07.2024 21:48 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It says that that payment details are known to belong to a scammer. That's a hard thing to say if you are not sure. So I started to change the code and the payment links should need to be "confirmed" by me before entering in that algorithm.
18.07.2024 21:47 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0I apologized and deleted that message and whitelisted the account. But my code stored that payment links as maybe belonging to an impersonator and I failed to delete them from that database. I forgot. And when someone uses a blackisted payment link the warning message is more direct.
18.07.2024 21:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0The bot is stopped because I made a big mistake.
It all started with this. My bot detected two accounts that looked like one was impersonating the other one. The bots said "Maybe this is an impersonation" but they explained me that the two accounts belonged to the same person. 🧵
I understand what you say but if I wanted to spread lies I wouldn't be deleting them and stopping the bot.
