Cumbersome yes probably! But the Arts are the only sector that are also expected to serve education delivery. I would love an arts rich education system so that arts orgs donβt have to fill the gaps - would lead to much more exciting work with schools.

If drama, alongside other arts, is given weight in the primary curriculum teachers will apply it to topic learning. Kids will more easily engage with learning and attainment will improve. It creates equitable classrooms.
Drama & the arts are not just βextra curricularβ reaching only some kids.
β¦more specialist teachers and better access to extra-curricular activities. These are important issues, and where we received evidence that extends beyond curriculum and assessment, we have passed that on to the Department for Education, who will reflect it in wider work.β

So much promise of valuing creativity pre-election & it barely features in the interim report. Drama & creativity improve access to learning and without it being woven through statutory requirements for Primary it remains for the privilegedβ¦
