This has its moments thanks to that old Keaton charm, and costar Rae Dawn Chong gives it her all, but overall this is not good.

Sensational. Peppard plays the British agent (trust me, it works) like a hard-boiled detective has been dropped into a Cold War spy flick. Supporting cast perfect. Third act just crackles.

You don't have to love all of these movies, but you do have to understand that a studio that makes Sinners and One Battle and Mickey 17 and Wuthering Heights and The Bride and Weapons grasps its responsibility to filmmaking and its own history and tradition in a way that David Ellison does not.

ABC MotW doubles as pilot for series that ran only 13 eps. Mostly standard '70s detective show fare, elevated by charming Franciosa & his breezy approach. Also elevated by Catherine Bach in a jacuzzi.
