We lost this girl a little over 2 weeks ago and the grief is real and hard to get over. She slept on my head for the last 6 years and followed me everywhere. Her absence is so very real and heartbreaking. πŸ’”miss you every day my Sophie girl!

Yes, totally. I politely called someone on a statement they made that was tone deaf (imho). They responded, I responded back etc. none of it was uncivil, and he didn't block me, I didn't unfollow him ;). Was curious about others reference to jerks and whether that's anyone who doesn't 100% agree

Whole heartedly agree, but leads me to an etiquette question here... polite disagreements allowed or is anyone offering a different perspective or questioning some of a post a "jerk"?

@daryllmarie.bsky.social super grateful for this thread. I'm not a good photographer (like everyone here lol). I'm just using my poor iPhone skills to capture birds I see. But I LOVE #birds #birding at my very amateur level, and it's a delight to see the amazing pics and art of those here! Thanks

What were the lifers you saw there?

#usbirds #usbirding etc seems logical if you segment others (or a North America flavor if keeping continental)

Wow- did not know about this and will get rid of my black plastic utensils asap!

Ok Western WA friends- buckle up for some interesting weather, and stay safe out there. Estimated to start between 4-7pm today

So much to learn about #seabirds from our new home. While I miss the #birds that my 8 feeders attracted at our old yard(!), there is a whole new world outside my condo in #westseattle. Caught this blue heron enjoying his catch at low tide, and love the reflection in the water.

I hear you, and I agree that there are many who hold themselves back from all that is possible. Quite often, they are doing 100% the opposite of what you suggested, but are surprised nothing comes their way. You have to show up, and put in the work.

No - but to imply it's as simple as taking what you want, assumes the person who is asking for long held norms to change can break the door down alone. In truth, it will require the drive of the one seeking the seat AND folks like us to advocate, introduce, and help usher others to the table.

I truly respect you Matthew... but this is really tone deaf and the perspective of a white man who has the keys to open the doors. I have had the only seat held by a female on a board or exec team of all men. That said, to walk into the room... the door can't be locked and bolted shut to others

Hummingbird this am as the moon was still in the sky. West Seattle, WA. They, and many others are really hitting our feeder hard as the temps have cooled and the flowers of summer are gone.
