I’m going to check my county park program. I put a reminder in my calendar at the beginning of April. I found a wildflower hike from two years ago on April 27. There are many woodland trails here. I won’t let this spring go by without some wildflower hikes. Thanks for the Trout Lily post!!!

So trout lillies precede them. I couldn’t remember. My house backs up to a forest now, but the soil is very sandy, so woodland wildflowers don’t grow here. I’m going to make it a point to go on a hike where the forest soil is less sandy. Like peepers, wildflowers are an ephemeral joy of spring.
