You could get a picture of how much sales were struggling by the fact that vol 1 had the standard store bonus items, vol 2 didn't, and vol 3 ended up being ebook only. It's just kinda sad :(

I think every adaptation is functionally an advert, it's just they have the same standard 3vol contracts and metrics for success as non-adaptations. Just leads to awful pacing because a sales failure means you've gotta be at the end of the novel regardless of the pace the artist wanted to adapt.
