100 Day project
I'm going to focus on these three ideas.
1) We will survive this.
2) This will end.
3) We're creating a better world.

Sculptures and drawings of sculptures. Kindergarten artists.

Concentric circles. Color mixing and hand eye coordination. Art is essential for academic rigor.

4th grade artists working on album covers as self portraits.

1st grade artists learning about women artists in textile design. Our final artist is Sonia Delaunay. I was inspired by Erin Wheeler on Creativebug.com to do collages in the style of Delaunay. Students use color vocabulary like primary, secondary and tertiary (Shouldn't it be "thirdary"?!) 😂

Mixing color for monochromatic painting. 1st grade artists.

Still life with flowers. 1st grade artists. Learning to look closely and work slowly. The art studio was silent for 20 whole minutes. All three classes were able to work in silence. Students were pleased and proud of their work.

Dress for the job you want 🐝 Teaching about insects. 2nd grade artists are researching insects so they can create their own.

Single shape maps. 1st grade artists were inspired by @eisroughdraft.bsky.social. We watched one of her Creativebug map making prompts. 1st graders are learning about maps so this paired nicely.quality

3rd grade artists using tints and shades to paint disco balls. Can't wait to see their finished work.

Creativity continues despite the news. 1st grade artists inspired by @eisroughdraft.bsky.social fabric line "glyphs". We used a limited palette and simple mark making to create our own pattern collections.
