The Write and Wrong Podcast
Join us as we chat with our amazing guests from the world of professional storytelling. Authors, agents, directors, game devs, editors, journalists, screenwriters and everything in between!
Today I'm on the Write and Wrong Podcast, talking about our series of Writing... books from Dead Ink, ways of worldbuilding in fantasy fiction, and the rather chaotic path I've taken through publishing. Maybe give it a listen!

Iโm a novelist whoโsย just bought a video games company.ย Hereโs why you should care about games writing | The Observer
just incredibly thrilled to announce that after months and months of uncertainty over the future of the game, and several I have bought Zombies, Run!, the game I co-created and have been making for the past 12 years:

Hey Bluesky do you have recs for general maths books that would be friendly towards neurodivergent kids, preferably with illustrations?
We are trying to learn equivalent fractions and the usual metaphors of pies and slices of pies are just not what kiddo needs

honestly I'm sick to death of everything cool from space exploration to strength training to norse mythology being ceded to the worst people without a fight. By declaring someone decent can't be into those things, you're not ensuring they won't exist, they'll just exist in the worst possible form

Cross-genre takeover
A new report points to 2025 being the biggest year for speculative fiction ever, thanks to the ongoing boom in romantasy fiction
Science fiction now is a far smaller part of the industry, and if it wants to regain its prominence and remain relevant, publishers and readers are going to have to find new approaches and stories.
I jotted down some thoughts: transfer-orbit.ghost.io/romantasy-sc...

Going to begin Kit Whitfield's In the Heart of Hidden Things while the Spouse does the grocery shopping. (I usually go along for moral support but read in the car, a Pandemic tradition that has stayed with us.) The season of rather clammy reading wrapped in a wool overcoat begins.

I went to Thoughtbubble at the weekend, so my physical TBR is full of comics and graphic novels.
