We’ve been in this dance our entire lives, but in the past decade it’s been overtly obvious. It’s time to stop expecting different from corporate media or moderate liberals. They have their agendas and they are most definitely not on your side. It shouldn’t surprise you anymore.

For the wealth class to continue hoarding and consolidating resources it requires fascism.

The wealth class owns all corporate media, so the coverage normalizes fascism while vilifying even the most moderate reform or change.

That’s it. That’s the game.

Anytime you ask “why did the Times cover it this way?” or whatever corporate media it is, remember that influential moderates are the tool of the wealth class and are there to normalize whatever the wealthy want and create doubt regarding reform and change.

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

It’s perverse that the only reason they get away with the incompetence (and the rest of it) solely because of the racism and misogyny

Collect a claim from one side, collect a claim from the other, present them both to the reader with an awkward shrug and a "who can say?"

And the photo choice -- Noem's looking down ... on what? The reverse angle showed a small crowd and a quiet street. But can't show that, it's biased to one side!

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

Mills has a higher floor. Platner has a higher ceiling. Neither one of those things is something to be sneezed at.
