Hey if you're a bird photographer and you're using AI to "improve" your photos (like the image on the left, that changes the color of the bird, moves the eye, erases the tail, adds extra feathers that aren't there) know it makes me lose all respect for you, for just photo quality purposes alone.

You don’t have to support Carney because Poilievre is worse. He is the government, we’re not in an election and we don’t deserve to be treated like this. Pick another Liberal if you have to, to champion as leader.

That's fair that this post doesn't say that. I'm just frustrated about the trend of posts that focus on American soldiers, which sends a message that the war only is really bad if American soldiers die. It's systemic racism/nationalism that's not the fault of a single poster.

The Americans chose to be there. I know there would have been enormous consequences for them if they refused, but the little girls who were slaughtered had no choice in the matter. The Americans' lives are not worth more than the innocent humans perishing in the fallout.

The Canadian economy of billionaires' wealth increasing is not helping the individual Canadian's experience of not being able to afford essentials. Money doesn't trickle down, especially if you tax the rich less and remove public services. The numbers only look good on a banker's spreadsheet.

AI is going to destroy humanity, both from environmental and societal harms. It's not profitable or a helpful tool, and trying to sell others planet-killing energy sources to power it should not be the Canadian way, though I guess what else can we expect from a banker.

Every time I think he can't disappoint me more... Anyone still thinking this guy is progressive/left leaning is fooling themselves.

So are the CPC and the part of our country that thinks Carney is not what he is. He's cheerleading what the US is doing. Heather McPherson's statement is the only reasonable response.

Lots of academics I really respect are highlighting this misunderstanding, which I’ve apparently also fallen prey to.

But there’s an important point here:

What did Carney think laymen would take away from his speech when he spoke of taking a sign out of a window in the face of a bullying regime?

Remember: Donald Trump created this crisis. He walked away from the Iran nuclear deal that was working, promising a "better deal." He didn't deliver. He escalated, abandoned real diplomacy, and has now led us into a conflict that puts us all at risk.
