Got my flu and covid jabs today. I wasn't sure covid would be available, even here in CA. Relieved, at least for 1 more year.

Yes. I try to buy only as much as we can consume. Plus, our waste management company has requested we separate our trash now and I hate having food out in the bin in the heat, even for a few days before pickup, so my freezer gets full of scraps and stuff, waiting for pickup day.

I've also read/heard some things about how much commercial food production overall has stripped the soils of nutrients that can't be or isn't replaced between harvests. Our food is becoming less nutritious as a result. We seem to be our own worst enemy while trying to consume whole real foods.

Yes, I was thinking they might have changed the taste when they engineered out the seeds. I don't think I've seen black seeds in a store bought watermelon for years. It's all "seedless" in my area stores.

No salt, never picked up that habit. Changing tastes is probably a part of it. Plus, as I was eating a bowl of it I considered that they've probably engineering out some of the sweetness along with the seeds. I don't know when I last had watermelon with full fledged black seeds.

I swear watermelon tasted better 30 years ago. I usually can't pick a good whole one so I'm braced for disappointment already, but when it's dark red and juicy when I cut it open, I have hopes. Then is just tastes...meh anyway. It's not awful, just reduced my expectations I guess.

I plan to hop in the car and drive over to my local protest site. At the least, I can drive through the intersection and honk my horn a couple times. I doubt I can stand for any length of time, but I'll check out the logistics and make a decision then. Any support is good, even in spirit.

I dabbled in keto for a while and yes, you can get down some rabbit holes with trying to change your diet and suppliment for your health.

Our instructions are for call in at 7 pm each day for a week. I would have hated a mid day call in if I was still working. I had similar work hours as you do. Now retired so it wouldn't bother me as much. I could sleep in, LOL.

You and I are in the same boat this week. Also no reporting to courthouse today. Not yet time on west coast for me to check for tomorrow.
