How many times do you have to travel somewhere far to stop worrying that you left something dangerous on at home? Despite checking three times 😅

somewhere before. Spent some time trying to remember, then googled it - no results. Was pretty sure it was a book, not a webtoon and not another fic. So I went to check my goodreads. And there it was, it sprung at me instantly, together with the reason for the uneasiness. 3/5

And then 30 pages till the end, the climax event happens and you've seen it coming from miles away and hoped it will be something less predictable 😢

And you need to finish the book through clenched teeth because WHY.

That moment when you're reading a book, and you're loving the characters, and the setting is interesting, and the relationships are predictable in a cute way...

I did NOT expect it to be JKR, of all terf and homophobic abominations 😅

I did expect another right-wing US politician or influencer.

Like, it's a completely empty acc, no followers and no "followed", no likes or bookmarks, and it's private. From time to time, the algorithm suggests "content that might be of interest", basically without knowing anything about me.

I've created an empty and private X acc for the sole purpose of using it to "share" game achievements to get sharing rewards, and now it's turning into an experiment of sorts, to see how many X users that I despise are promoted by the platform 😂

In my team, there are two men currently. One of them has been forgetting to give me SEO tech tasks until after I finish articles (making me rewrite parts), and the other just closed my editing comments to his article without making fixes - and confidently told our TL that he fixed everything.

And you want me to trust them to do good by me for free? Well that would be mighty stupid!

The society (and my grandma) wants me to marry, preferably a man. Why would I do that? Why would I tie my whole life to a being I cannot trust to do his job even at work? Where he is being PAID to do it - and still doesn't.

It's been exactly one month since I came back from a 10-day vacation, all rested and ready to tackle tasks. But the number of tasks I have to tackle these last two weeks makes rest a distant memory 😬

My social battery is so dead I can't muster the energy to "talk" even to game characters to see what the plot has for me 🤣

Some days, it's bearable. Other days, like today, I have summarily an hour and a half of people-ing and all I want after that is to wrap myself in a blanket, lie down, and stare at the ceiling while listening to a handsome anime man whisper to me that I did a good job and deserve to rest.

when I just graduated. But peculiarities aside, I just love to write, and I can do so for any industry. I also love that a job in writing allows me to be my introvert self comfortably.

However, we live in times of corporate culture, so sometimes even I need to be in calls and meetings and TALK 😢👇

I'm one of those lucky people who never in my life have regretted the choice of profession. I chose it with care, and I love what I do - that is, to write. Sure, I'd love to write in a more creative way, same as I would have loved to work in literature translation and not technical one 👇

30% in and I like the language of this author, the way they spin the story - I see where their acclaim came from, it's very much deserved. BUT. I'm not sure I like where the plot is going 😣 the direction seems to be right into my peeves 😖

Me: Let's start small. I don't have the willpower to just cut sweets off, but I can lower the consumption by only buying something when I want a very specific thing, not just "see candy - buy candy". I can do it. Only when I have a specific craving.

Brain: Okay! Sure thing, let's do this.

Can't really fathom a use for that 🤣

Some time ago, I was filling a profile... somewhere, I don't even remember where 😅 and there was a question about the most useless skill I have. I couldn't think of anything, even dumb skills have their use. I know one now. I am unhinged enough to eat while listening to a narration of necropsy 😂

I need to get into the habit of checking people's Facebook pages before I start talking to them in DMs 😒

But if I could manage books, and talk about books, and be paid for it, I think I'd love it nonetheless 😅

Because if I had an opportunity to choose a job, there's one I'd agree to do for even an average salary. But it requires a high-ish level of the local language, being a customer service job.

And yes, I'm not a people person, I'm pretty sure I'd be exhausted every day.

Some time ago, during a light conversation with colleagues, we were asked a curious question:

"If you didn't need to think too much about money, what would you do for a living?"

I haven't stopped thinking about it since, and I remember it every time I'm feeling lazy to open my language apps.

Bought tickets to #gamescom 2025 as a trade visitor. The perks of actually working in gamedev - my company will reimburse me the money with next salary, supposedly. Can't wait, last year was my first and it was a blast (although if my feet could talk they'd curse me haha).
