Research to determine the underlying mechanics responsible for #hyperacusis continues with this study, which found that the absence of these receptors makes the hearing system more likely to suffer damage from noise, sound sensitivity, and tinnitus.

How we feel after yet another setback.
Setbacks are a common part of #hyperacusis. And sometimes they are worsenings with tragic permanence. The process becomes a tireless cycle that's neverending. Sometimes you feel like Michael Clarke Duncan's character John Coffey in "The Green Mile."
Could #hyperacusis sometimes be hereditary? Shane's story makes a compelling case for that, but most of his story centers around the fact he had to leave his church. The painful and deafening sensations from the children in the audience were just too much.
