I still think it was a poor trade (at the time) but its hard to argue with it given the way Diaz worked out for the Mets. Still, on a fundamental level, giving up a (then) top prospect like Kelenic for a closer and an expensive 2B is wild. All that said, I love Edwin and want him back.

I think this is the first domino. All of us have to be ready for a different looking team in 2026. Trading the longest tenured Met is certainly a way to start that off. 👀

Totally. Longest tenured Met not being there is gonna be weird. That being said, I guess Stearns saying run prevention being a priority was not hyperbole.

Feels like one of those deals you can't fully grade until you see what else happens this off-season.
