Myot View Early Learning and Childcare Centre

We have been playing with the football in the Ladybird room garden. We are learning to play cooperatively with our friends by passing the ball to each other.

We have been using the tyres and the football in the Ladybird room to play skittles in the garden. We have been taking turns and using our gross motor skills to co-ordinate and knock the cones over.

In the Ladybird Room we have been learning new language whilst play with the remote control cars manoeuvring them”Up” and “Down” the ramp also “Forward” and “Backwards / back” on the carpet. Two of the children made an obstacle course from the ramp, log seats and planks.

In the ladybird room we have been giving the children the opportunity to practice their climbing, jumping and coordination through the use of obstacle courses. The children have been motivated to challenge themselves and help their friends complete the course.

We had some helpers to decorate the Christmas tree. The ladybird room are getting into the Christmas Spirit. 🎄

The Rainbow children were super excited to put our Christmas tree up today. We listened to some Christmas music, singing away and having fun.

What a very busy inservice day we have had !! The staff have revamped the 3-5 room, and our environment is looking fabulous ! We can’t wait for our children and families to see it and let us know what you think 🤔 We have lovely warm, cosy spaces and exciting experiences for our children, so excited!

The children in the Rainbow room have been busy working together building bridges, and using their spacial awareness to crawl through the bridge.

We’ve welcomed some families in to join our Magic Meals sessions. The children have prepared some meals with their family and enjoyed our recipes so far!

This week in the Ladybird Room the children have been exploring ice showing great curiosity talking about what it felt like and seeing it melt

The rainbow room children continue to enjoy using the parachute together learning some new songs. We sang “shaky, shaky, shaky, up and down, can we shake it fast?”. They demonstrated great understanding of the directional language.

Hi all.We are looking for any donations of fairy lights(plug in or battery),large rugs, large cushions,any plain voile material, lamps, any artificial or real plants and pallets.We are looking to develop our spaces and environment in our 3-5 room so any donations actions would be really appreciated.

This week, some other groups of children had the opportunity to visit the woods. Simoa helped keep us safe. We enjoyed collecting sticks and hiding behind trees. It was great fun!

The Rainbow room children have been enjoying participating in group activities such as ‘ring a ring a roses’ and the parachute, building there confidence and friendships.

Today in the Rainbow Room we had our foods that we had made out of clay for role play in the home corner

Today we visited the park, building our confidence climbing and using our strength. We also took our snack to the park, enjoying a picnic together.

In the ladybird room garden we have added a water butt to enhance our role play opportunities in the mud kitchen. We have been filling and pouring water in to different sized pots, bowls and measuring jugs and creating soup using natural resources from the garden.

The Ladybird Room have been very curious about animals this week they have discovered in the sensory area .The children have been grouping the animals by their patterns, families. The children have become much more confident with identifying what animals are “big” and what are “small”. 🐒🦍

We have been playing cooperatively together selling ice cream at our shop and putting our money in the till.

This week in the art area of the LadybirdRoom we have been looking at colour recognition through the primary colours of yellow, red, blue with lots of different experiences on offer.

The Ladybird Room had lots of fun at the park! We had a little chat beforehand with our friend Simoa 🐘 on how to keep ourselves safe walking to the park and staying with the ladies. We had so much fun exploring all of the park as developing our gross motor skills and special awareness.

This week in the Ladybird Room small world area we have been looking at different farm animals, animal puzzle games and linking the animals from the ‘Dear Zoo’ book. Role play and imaginative play along with naming and showing our knowledge of the different animals.

This week outdoors in the LadybirdRoom we have explored our senses as we recycled a couple of jars and put scents in them to further our role play in the mud kitchen and we also did a sensory experience of smelling some different scents.

In the ladybird room we have been exploring colours in the messy area, using coloured pasta with our playdough and frogs in the water tray. We have been matching the colours that are the same and helping each other to identify the different colours using simple language.
