"Weaponising male rage against women’s supposed social-sexual dominance is a convenient proxy war. It’s a decoy for the rage… that comes with being in a putrefying world system. It is a stand-in for t unspeakable experience of class shame. For t indignity of loneliness & disappointment and decline."

Patriarchy is a pyramid scheme. Patriarchy funnels the rewards of male violence towards the elite while collectivising the shame, pain and frustration. Ordinary, alienated men & boys are left to stew in the self-loathing that says intimacy is something they have to tear from another human by force.

Brill β€œThe story claims that the real power differential in society, the one that actually matters, is women’s sexual power over men.
… The power, specifically, to withhold sex and everything that is supposed to come with it: pleasure, care, intimacy, validation, belonging, status, self-respect.”

Temporarily Embarrassed Sex Criminals Let’s start with an uncomfortable truth: almost every man on earth has more in common with Jeffrey Epstein's victims than he does with any of the guests.

Patriarchy is a political system for making traitors out of men.
I wrote about organised misogyny and the Epstein Files.

"Patriarchy is a political technology. It is designed to persuade men that their interests lie with a small elite rather than with the other half of the human race."

This is the most practical, in-depth piece of writing advice of the series so far.

Narrative Voice is such a basic technique that almost nobody bothers to explain it- which leaves a lot of writers struggling without knowing why.

Here’s how it works. You’re welcome.

What we’re watching is the enshittification of democracy. Milk it for profit, load it with liabilities, strip it for parts.

Write Like A Person: prompt post #3 Everything happens so much

My new writing seminar is really picking up. And current events are making an appearance.
Because creative work isn’t about shutting out what’s awful and overwhelming in the world. It’s about taking charge of your reaction to those things.

I came to Copenhagen to run a new game, and people are very polite here, but when the game ended I had trouble getting the players to stop screaming and fighting each other.
It was NOT a fighting game.
I’m just saying that if I had to pick a European nation to bully, I wouldn’t start with Denmark.

How to Write Like A Person Announcing a new seminar for 2026.

As an intervention against hopelessness and AI slop, I’m running a new writing seminar over on my blog, and I’m unreasonably excited about how it’s going so far.
Anyone’s welcome to join!
This weekend’s post, if I say so myself, is going to be a bit of a banger.

I’m in Copenhagen. It’s cold and foggy and the train station is full of people with Greenland flags and little placards saying β€˜Make America Go Away.’
The mood is quiet and furious. I’ve been here enough to know that when Danes go hard, they go very, very hard.

Today, I learned that CHEDDAR APPLE CRUMBLE is a real thing. A real thing that people in the United States really eat.

I found the right spell, sorry recipe, and have managed to recreate CHEDDAR APPLE CRUMBLE.

America, you can rest now. You’ve done enough. This is enough. Thank you and goodnight.
