Oh! I thought you meant to cut fabric out, like in cutwork embroidery. You can actually see some of the holes made after I removed some test stitches if you zoom in on the big blue splotch in the middle. 🫣

Interesting idea! The edges of the fabric haven't frayed, so that could probably be done.
