Ever hear the Epic of Gilgamesh? There's a part I always think about.

At some point, Enkidu the wild man, is cursed by the gods for failing to kill Gilgamesh, king of Uruk. He is the only a match for the king in strength, his only equal. And when he dies Gilgamesh clutches his dead body for weeks.

What part of your worldview requires that he (or the Supreme Court for that matter) *must* be legitimate? What part of yourself are you holding onto without the knowledge of it's death?

As in, phone-in-hand: "Here, meet my AI girlfriend" which then immediately began to "flirt" with me because it's the one thing it's programmed to do.

That was the most egregious example. The rest were people dropping off-handed remarks about their AI girlfriend and how I should "try it out".
