It sounds so cliche and straight out of a manga/drama/Webtoon when I write it out like that but I promise neither is stereotypical cliche "guy with a dark job/past x pure, innocent partner who helps him overcome it" 😂😭

He falls first and comes to realize that he genuinely loves them so I wonder if he ever fears getting involved with them because it would somehow taint the natural light that seems to radiate from them.

Food for thought: I wonder if the original Amir ever worried about "ruining" the original August when they were finally getting together. Because his line of work is unfortunately not the most savory sort of jobs and August is just so bright and seems so pure for the world they're in
